Catana Lopez came to Earth Care as Business Manager in September of 2022. She is a native NM and daughter of a Muralist/Activist from Northern New Mexico. She considers herself a “Norteno” and most of her childhood was spent on her family land in Sapello surrounded by wildlife, enjoying the fresh pure air provided by the old growth forest on the property. She was fortunate enough to spend her adolescence and young adulthood in Taos, witnessing the brilliant double rainbows that frequently show up at the foot of Taos Mountain to bless the community.  Growing up surround by the awe-inspiring beauty of New Mexico and a people who are sustained by the land, has given her a deep respect for the land, and how we are connected to it. It has also fostered an understanding of how we must live in harmony with our environment and have strong community. She is very pleased to be able to be part of a network that champions both ideals. Catana now lives in Santa Fe with her partner and between them they are the parents of three children, two who are currently in the Santa Fe Public School System and one University of Alabama graduate.  Although she is new to Earth Care in this position, she has been working in different contractual capacities for Earth Care and their partner organization New Energy Economy since 2019. She is a graduate of Santa Fe Community College with an Associate of Arts in Business Administration with an emphasis on accounting.
